Great rebounder, defender and shot-blocker. A steady role player and defensive presence. A native of Toledo Ohio, Tate played his collegiate ball at Cincinnati from 1998-2000. During that time he was coached by current Rochester head coach Rod Baker, who served as an assistant for the Bearcats. As a senior, Tate started 30 of 32 games and averaged 4.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
